Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day, and it can be expressed in many forms.

Last week, the Kent Washington Association of Realtors (KWAOR) hosted their general membership meeting at the Radisson Airport Hotel where they presented A Wish Come True, Inc. with a $4,500 check to grant Joseph Kroll’s wish to go to Disney and meet Mickey Mouse in April.

“It is our pleasure to present proceeds of $4,500 representing donations from our members at our 2019 Holiday Party. Giving back to the community is an important goal of our association. We are in love with giving,” said Linda Arcouette, CEO for KWAOR Foundation.

A Wish Come True, Inc. is the oldest wish granting organization in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts that grants wishes to children ages 3 to 18 who are living with life threatening illnesses.

Six-year old Joseph has been diagnosed with multiple illnesses including Mitochondrial Disease and Epilepsy. Being born at only 3 lbs, he has struggled throughout his life having many emergency room visits, surgeries, and hospital stays at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“Thank you and there are no words, it is truly a wish come true,” said his mom, Melissa Kroll,

“Juggling all of Joseph’s health conditions can be a lot to handle. We have had many times were he has struggled through certain situations, but we overcome them by love, faith, and hope,” said Melissa.

“It is always exciting to see the community give back to a cause that directly impacts a family. We are proud to be partners with KWAOR Foundation again this year.”  “We hope Joseph and his family enjoy their trip,” said Mary Kate O’Leary, Executive Director of A Wish Come True.

Visit A Wish Come True is doing on their web site www.awish.org. Established in 1982 and located in Warwick, A Wish Come True is a small organization with a large mission to assist these special kids and their families.

Although love is something we can’t see, it is known through the production of giving. When a child is granted a Wish, it not only provides a once in a lifetime experience; but it provides the families with support, positive memories through a difficult time, and love from many throughout our communities.
