Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash coming to Park Theatre
Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash, a founding member of the iconic bands The Hollies and super group Crosby, Stills & Nash, is coming to Rhode Island to perform at the historic and completely renovated Park Theatre on Sept. 12. Tickets are now on sale.
For Nash’s highly-anticipated solo U.S. tour, which kicks off in early September during a break in the Crosby, Stills & Nash 2013 tour, the superstar musician will perform a special series of “An Evening With” concerts across the east coast. During the tour, Nash will perform as a trio, accompanied by James Raymond on keyboards and Shane Fontayne on guitar – who are also part of the Crosby, Stills & Nash touring band.
“Graham Nash is one of the biggest names in music history; we’re very excited that he chose to play the Park Theatre as part of his tour – it will be his only appearance in Rhode Island,” said Yusuf Gandhi, Executive Director of the Park Theatre. “Mr. Nash does not often tour as a soloist, so this is an incredible opportunity for people to see him up close and personal in an intimate venue.”
Having helped shape the world around him through ideas, innovations and influential works of art for more than four decades, Graham Nash is one of a few musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of multiple groups. He is also a member of the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame.
While continually building his musical legacy, Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and visual artist whose work has been shown in galleries and museums worldwide, including the Smithsonian. In May 2013 he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from Boston’s Lesley University, where he spoke at the commencement. Later this fall, he will release his highly anticipated memoir, Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life, chronicling his more than 50 years in music.
Throughout his tour, Nash will continue his long-time tradition of raising money for charity through the Guacamole Fund’s special benefit seats; in addition, he will donate $1 per ticket sold to charity.
Graham Nash will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12. Tickets are $46 and $56 and are available by calling the Park Theatre’s Box Office at 467-7275 or online at www.ParkTheatreRI.com. The Park Theatre is located at 848 Park Avenue, Cranston. Free parking is available for all shows.
