Leo Peter Rukstalis Jr., 74, of Warwick died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Ann (MacKenzie) Rukstalis. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather!

Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Leo Peter Rukstalis and Helen (Golombiewski) Rukstalis. Leo was employed as a Driver for the United Parcel Service for thirty-seven years until retiring. He served in the United States Air Force (Special Forces) and was honorably discharged after a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Leo loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working in the yard, planting a garden and most of all taking his boat out on Narragansett Bay to fish. His 1968 Boston Whaler was his pride and joy. And later after becoming ill and not being able to enjoy the boat an occasional day at the casino was in order. Leo was a quiet man but was the first to offer his help when needed.

He was the best husband a woman could ask for. He will be missed every day.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Keri Lohrman (Griff) of Naples, FL; two step-sons: Vincent Silvestri (Cathy) of Amherst, NH and Michael Silvestri, Sr. (Stacey) of Warwick; a sister: Barbara Nicholson; a brother-in-law, David C. Tyler of West Warwick; a sister-in-law, Linda Viau of Warwick; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private entombment with military honors will take place in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
