Let's get Warwick working together

To the residents of Warwick:

Since I declared my candidacy for Mayor back in June, I have been encouraged and humbled by the outpouring of support from Republicans, Democrats, moderates and independent voters. I embarked on this challenge because I see so much potential for the City of Warwick and feel strongly that we need an energetic visionary and consensus builder to get Warwick moving. I feel I am that candidate.

It seems there is a lot of stalling in city hall these days. Under-analyzed budgets, delayed developments, a six-month stalemate in funding our schools – it worries me. We need to get going. We need to get people moving – working together to fund sustainable solutions to our challenges and finding the common ground that will ensure stability for our efforts.

I am a people mover! There is nothing that gives me more satisfaction than bringing two or more groups together, whether they are committees, developers, organizations or constituents. It could be for a simple conversation or a formal partnership, but this is how we accomplish, how we build, how we grow.

The people of Warwick deserve leadership with the courage and know-how to work with varying groups and special interests, and the demeanor to bring them together to find solutions that benefit all involved. They deserve leadership with integrity and with a track record of successful results. My go to formula in getting things done is people moving – in building coalitions and collaborating. I am a builder and a mover who wants a Warwick that thrives with a responsible fiscal agenda, a robust economy, a flourishing school system, thoughtful programs for healthy aging, and a proud sense of community.

Let’s get people moving in celebration of Warwick’s reputation as a vibrant, innovative, desirable place to live and work, raise a family and retire, go to school and grow a business.

For 26 years the voters of Warwick have wisely fashioned a system of checks and balances by voting for a Republican Mayor to balance the largely Democratic controlled City Council. You have chosen to maintain this balance because it ensures appropriate accountability in your elected officials and it acts as a safeguard for your hard-earned tax dollars. People tell me that I have the right vision, experiences and temperament to be the next Mayor of Warwick. I have a clear plan to build up Warwick’s infrastructure, city services, education system, City Center development, and neighborhoods.

I humbly ask for your vote today and thank you for your consideration.

Sue Stenhouse

Former Councilwoman and 2018 Mayoral Candidate

The one thing I dislike about Sue Stenhouse is she doesn't answer questions in detail. Glosses over everything with lines like "I am a people mover!" whatever that means. She never addressed the Cranston Senior Center debacle that made national news. She is trying to campaign off of Avedesian's name and her record from the 90's. She thinks that having Avedesian was checks and balances then maybe you can explain the side deal his administration made with the WFD. If the best you can come up with against Solomon is a light house and LED lights, you clearly are grasping at straws. I am looking forward to seeing the back end of Stenhouse after this election is over. It will be interesting to see if Stenhouse disappears from Warwick after she loses the election. If you want to help people and be a part of the community, you can do that without being in office.

Since when was Scott Avedisian ever a republican?
