Film school alumnus and former stuntman Kurt Foley makes a return in the upcoming film series at the Warwick Public Library.
Foley is renowned for heart-pounding car chases. Join him for a quartet of terrific car chase films at Warwick Public Library on Thursdays, July 27 and August 3, 10 and 17 at 7 p.m.
On July 27, see "Gone in 60 Seconds" (1974), starring H.B. Halicki and Jerry Daugirda. When a master car thief is betrayed by his partner, he leads police on a 40-minute chase that destroys 93 cars.
"Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" (1974), starring Peter Fonda and Susan George will be featured on Aug. 3. A stock car driver plans a heist but didn't plan on his girlfriend being with him when it's time to outrun the cops.
On August 10, watch "To Live and Die in L.A." (1985), starring Willem Defoe and John Pankow. When a counterfeiter kills a Secret Service agent, he's chased by the agent's partner, including down a freeway going the wrong way.
On August 17, come for "Ronin" (1998), starring Robert DeNiro and Jean Reno. A team of specialists are hired to grab a briefcase from a group of criminals and drive like madmen through Paris.
