Lifespan opens Urgent Care facility at Hoxsie Four Corners

Posted

The doors to the first Lifespan Urgent Care in Rhode Island opened Monday at 17 Airport Road (at the intersection of Warwick Avenue, Hoxsie Four Corners).

The Lifespan Urgent Care provides area residents a convenient and quick way to seek care for minor illness and injuries. Visiting a Lifespan Urgent Care, a program of Lifespan Physician Group, has the added benefit of seamless access to a patient’s medical records on the MyLifespan patient portal as well as to Lifespan emergency services, primary care providers, and specialists if needed.

Medical director Olivier Gherardi, DO, a long-time Cranston resident and father of three, will supervise the Warwick location, and all future Lifespan Urgent Care facilities.  “Urgent care is a safe and cost-effective alternative to the Emergency Department, as we are able to quickly take care of patients who have symptoms or concerns that come up suddenly and who are stable and not in a life-threatening situation,” Gherardi said. “We’re equipped to do lab tests and x-rays, which allows us to accurately diagnose certain conditions and start treatment promptly and effectively.

“As an added benefit, Lifespan Urgent Care is a great resource to then direct those patients who need further care to the right channels, whether that’s to primary care, or to more focused care, such as therapy, mental health services, or other specialists we can provide.”

Bobby Hingorani, Director of Urgent Care Operations for Lifespan Physician Group, said in a statement, “We are honored to be your neighborhood Urgent Care and hope to help families, patients, and employees get the great care they deserve. We are a state-of-the-art facility. Our well-trained medical staff believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.”

Lifespan Urgent Care will be providing treatment for adults and children 18 months and older. Among the injuries and illnesses treated at the unit are colds and flu, earaches and sinus; infections; fractures and sprains, animal bites, cuts, stomach upset and diarrhea, burns, Insect bites, immunizations and sports physicals.

Clinic hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and some holidays. (Closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.) For added convenience, patients will be able to register online and reserve a time slot. Lifespan will soon be announcing the opening of additional Lifespan Urgent Care locations.
