Local residents awarded PC faculty research grants


The following Warwick residents were recently awarded grants from Providence College’s Committee on Aid to Faculty Research (CAFR) to conduct research throughout the 2012-13 academic year: Dr. Jay Pike, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, $5,150; Dr. Shannon Rauch, assistant professor of psychology, “The persuasive power of victim-based racial messages: The effects of collective guilt and racial ambivalence,” $5,468.

Since its inception almost 40 years ago, CAFR has awarded more than $1.8 million to support scholarly research activities that enrich the academic life of the College. For 2012-2013, the grants total $81,458.
