Lorraine M. (Soares) Lima passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 17, 2019 surrounded by her family, who had celebrated her 87th birthday the evening before.

A resident of Warwick, she was the loving wife of the late Anthony R. Lima Sr. for 55 years, beautiful daughter of the late Cirilo and Mary (Silvia) Soares of Fall River, Mass. and Pawtucket, and caring sister of the late Margaret (Soares) Barber and Edward "Eddy" Soares of Pawtucket.

Her family was her life; she listened, gave advice, prayed for God's protection and blessed many with her sweet, kind, loving, gentle spirit, always willing to help others. Her passion was music and she loved to sing and enjoyed the music of her time. She especially loved listening to and singing with Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis.

She was a member of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center and enjoyed many dances at the CV Club. She loved going to bingo at Foxwoods and the old Cranston Riviera. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Williams Church. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Most of all, she loved Jesus. John 13:35 NKJV “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” That was Mom!

She was a loving, nurturing stay-at-home mom to her three children, son Robert and wife Billie-Jean (Henderson) Lima, daughter Deborah (Lima-Pina) Butts and husband Thomas and her son Anthony "Tony" Lima Jr. She leaves 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 25 at 9 a.m. from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 4-7 p.m. She is to be laid to rest with her husband at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
