‘Lose for Good Open House’ to benefit Food Bank
Weight Watchers will host a Lose for Good Open House event Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Weight Watchers Center, Johnston Plaza, 1 Commerce Way, Suite 3, Johnston, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Weight Watchers Store, Trader Joe's Plaza, 1000 Bald Hill Rd., Warwick from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This one-day food drive will benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank to help fight hunger here in our own communities.
Last year members and online subscribers in the Rhode Island territory donated 3,400 pounds of food and in a seven-week period lost 20,656 pounds. Members’ weight losses will be tallied this year from Sept. 2 to Oct. 20 to reach 1 million pounds nationwide for the Lose for Good campaign with Weight Watchers donating up to $1 million to its two charitable partners Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger.
The Open House will feature prizes, refreshments, demonstrations and more. Bring nonperishable food items, such as peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables, soups, stews, beans, pasta and rice, breakfast cereals, bottled water, healthy snacks and personal care items.
