Lucy (Higgins) Regan


Lucy (Higgins) Regan, of Warwick, died peacefully April 25, 2012, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Regan.

Born in Charlestown, County Mayo, Ireland, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Callaghan) Higgins, she lived in Warwick for the last 35 years. She was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary T. McKenna and her husband Thomas and Anna Kathy Sullivan and her husband Thomas, of Warwick; three grandchildren, Mary-Ann McCurry of Warwick, Chief Petty Officer Michael P. McKenna, USN, of Orlando, FL, and Joseph T. Sullivan of Boston, MA and Warwick; three great-grandchildren; and a niece, Lucy Kelley and her husband Frank of Johnston. She was the sister of the late Charles, Thomas, Joseph and Bridget Higgins, Anna K. Coyle, Elizabeth Mulligan, and Mary Ellen Brennan.

Her funeral was held on Monday, April 30, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Columban Fathers, Bristol, RI or St. Peter Church, would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers to their Mom: Debbie Comforti, Linda Canzano, Kathy Martino, Kim Doyle, Jo-Ann McKenna, and Betty Malley. We will be forever grateful to all of you.
