Margaret (Setian) Nalbandian, age 91, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 10, 2017. She was the wife of Jack Nalbandian. In two weeks they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Zakar and Armenouhi (Toutarian) Setian, she lived in Cranston before moving to Warwick in 1953. Margaret was a member of the Spring Green Memorial Church for 64 years, serving as church pianist for 25 of them. As an active member, she served in many other capacities including singing in the adult choir, director of the youth choir, and a member of WIGS.

Margaret worked for the RI Department of Children, Youth, and Families in Providence before raising her own children. She later became a travel agent, sparking a love and interest in cruise travel. Margaret loved spending time with her husband, together enjoying activities such as bowling and ballroom dancing. She was a well-respected, self-taught pianist, a gifted seamstress, and an avid shopper.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Johnson and her husband Fredrick, of Newbury Park, CA, and June E. Dowiot and her husband Robert, of North Kingstown; a son, Martin J. Nalbandian and his wife Deborah, of North Kingstown; a brother, Leo Setian of Siloam Springs, AR. She had nine treasured grandchildren: Alissa, Andrew, Joshua, Jonathan, Justin, Nicole, Kimberly, Jessica, and Emily; and eight great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Richard Setian. Even in declining health, Margaret kept her strong spirit, determination, and sense of humor. She was an inspiration to those around her and she will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the CNAs of Home Instead and care providers of Hope Hospice for their personal attention and dedication.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, September 30, at 11:00 at Spring Green Memorial Church, 1350 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
