Maria Davis, age 54, beloved daughter of Geraldine Taglione passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2018 in the arms of her mother after many prolonged illnesses. Maria was a devoted daughter with a special spirit and a smile that brought joy and happiness to all her family. She was a true inspiration as she bravely faced countless physical challenges with unwavering faith and optimism. She lived her life filled with love, grace and hope.
A gifted student, Maria graduated with honors from Saint Xavier’s High School in 1982. Music was her passion and her tastes varied from Jimmy Buffet to Andre Bocelli to Helen Reddy’s song, “You and Me Against the World.” Maria’s sweet poodle, Sophie, was never far from her.
She is survived by her adoring uncle and many close cousins who she loved dearly. Malcolm “Andy” Schoonover, her longtime companion, was dedicated to being a gentle caregiver. Pre-deceased by her grandparents, Maria and Joseph Taglione, she was proud to continue their traditions brought over from Italy and meticulously taught to her as a child.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
