Marilyn A. (Duggan) Leach


Marilyn A. (Duggan) Leach, a long-time Warwick resident, passed away on September 26, 2012. She was the wife of the late John A. Leach.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Bertha M. (Glennon) Duggan. Mrs. Leach graduated from Rhode Island College of Education, where she received her Bachelor of Education degree. She received her Masters degree from Boston University, and attended Columbia University. She was a teacher and guidance counselor in the Warwick Public Schools for many years. Remaining active in her retirement, Mrs. Leach was a member of the Warwick Neck Garden Club, belonged to a bridge club, and played golf. She also taught CCD classes at St. Kevin Church.

Marilyn is survived by one sister, Loretta A. Coogan, and one brother, William J. Duggan. She was the sister of the late John J. Duggan and Glenna R. Downs. Marilyn will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, her long-time and cherished college friends, and the many friends and neighbors she has known throughout her life.

Her funeral was held on September 29, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial was in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Kevin Church.
