Though winter may seem months away, every Rhode Islander knows that when winter arrives in New England, it comes in with a bang! Prolonging the life of your vehicle in the extreme cold of our wet and wild winters comes down to one word: ANTIFREEZE.
Antifreeze serves a few purposes, the most important of which is to keep the water in your radiator and engine from freezing in cold temperatures. It also provides important lubrication as it greases the moving parts it comes in contact with, such as your car’s ever-important water pump.
Kevin McCrudden, longtime owner, chief technician and operator of McCrudden’s Radiator Repair in Warwick, recommends that your car’s antifreeze be flushed every couple of years. He has seen the catastrophic damage that results when that antifreeze breaks down and thus fails to protect your car’s engine. As winter approaches and the days ahead reach unseasonably cold temperatures, Kevin encourages car owners to come in to the “radiator experts” and get their antifreeze changed. The team at McCrudden’s Radiator Repair will give you complete confidence that your engine will survive the freezing temperatures that can otherwise wreak havoc on your vehicle.
Along with the proper levels of antifreeze to help your car endure the winter, come in to McCrudden’s and have your heating system checked. Make sure your heater is working properly so you can not only heat your car, but also defrost your chilled windows in a timely and efficient manner.
McCrudden’s Radiator Repair, a family business for over 50 years, is a full-service repair shop. Along with flushing and changing your vehicle’s essential fluids, maintaining and repairing your radiator, Kevin also does work on:
