Medication adherence topic of OSCIL free lunch & learn workshops

Posted

The Ocean State Center for Independent Living will host Lunch & Learn Workshops at both OSCIL locations in Warwick and Pawtucket in March.

The topic for both workshops is Medication Adherence–The Benefits of Multi-Dose Packaging.

A representative from White Cross Pharmacy will discuss medication adherence, defined as taking all of your medications properly, as prescribed by your health care provider, at the right time and on the right day. Learn how multi-dose packaging can help you live more safely and independently at home, thus decreasing reliance on caregivers and help keep you out of the hospital.

The workshops will be held Wednesday, March 28, 12-2 p.m. at 1944 Warwick Ave, Warwick, and Thursday, March 29, 12-2 p.m. at 175 Main Street in Pawtucket.

As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers these free Lunch and Learn Workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community.

Advance registration is required; call 738-1013 if you plan to attend either session. Seating is limited. Lunch (pizza) will be served. A sign language interpreter and CART have been secured for these events. United Way’s 211 Outreach RV will be at the Warwick location to answer questions about other resources available in Rhode Island.
