The 8th Annual Meeting Street Fishing for a Cause Tournament returns to local waters June 22nd and 23rd. This event is one of the organization’s largest fundraisers of the year, is presented by Clarke Distribution Corporation. Recreational boats of all sizes are encouraged to participate in the catch-and-release striped bass, bluefish, black sea bass and fluke tournament that stretches from Cape Cod to Block Island and beyond. Trophies and prizes up to $2,500 will be awarded to the angler with the largest fish by length in each division. To honor best all-around catch, a “Top Rod” category has been added.
Following the fishing tournament, comedian and television star Lenny Clarke will serve as the master of ceremonies at a seaside dinner and awards ceremony, including a live auction and dancing. The 2017 event raised nearly $200,000 to benefit the thousands of children and families the organization serves each year. Fishing for a Cause has raised more than $1 million in its seven-year history.
Registration for the tournament is $250/person and includes the dinner and awards ceremony. Tickets for the dinner only are available for $175/person. For more information and to register, visit www.meetingstreet.org/ffac.
