Michael P. Burke, 71, of Warwick, RI passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019. He was born in Brockton, MA to the late Francis and Irma (Metcalf) Burke.
He grew up in Hanson, MA and graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School in 1965. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and had a lifelong career in construction management. He will be remembered for his love of books, his quick wit, his gift of storytelling, and for the adoration he had for his grandchildren and his beloved Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his loving children: Patrick Burke and his wife, Maria (Cipro) of Warwick and Kelly DeCorte of Carver, MA. He was a loving grandfather "Bampi" to Riley, Jack and Joshua DeCorte and to Alisha Cady. He was the beloved brother to Carol Lindsay of Southport, NC, M. Jane Burke of Canaan, VT and Elizabeth Robinson of Comox, BC, Canada. He also leaves behind a number of loving nieces and nephews. Mr Burke was predeceased by his longtime partner, Nancy Cady and her children Arthur and Daniel Cady. He will also be missed by her children: Kate Webster and Richard Cady.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11-1 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
