Discover the murderous side of the Ocean State. Hear four true crime tales investigated and told by Rhode Island journalist Kelly Sullivan Pezza at Warwick Public Library on Tuesdays, August 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 7 p.m.

On August 1, learn about the disappearance and likely murder of wealthy Charlestown rum-runner Danny Walsh who vanished in 1933 and has never been found.

On August 8, find out about the Ladd School in Exeter where sterilizations, euthanasia and even murder took place in an attempt to weed out Rhode Island's inferiors.

On August 15, Pezza will tell the tale of Anne Brownell, an 18-year-old babysitter from Little Compton who was murdered while watching the children of a state senator in 1965.

On August 22, follow the story of murderer Lucien Page whose long criminal career finally ended in 1974 after he escaped from a Rhode Island prison and committed suicide.

Pezza has written for Southern Rhode Island Newspapers for over 19 years and is the author of hundreds of articles and several books on true crime and unsolved mysteries in the Ocean State. For more information call 739-5440 x9758. The library is located at 600 Sandy Lane. This program is free and open to all.
