NBA trainer McClanaghan to host clinic at BHHS

Elite NBA trainer Rob McClanaghan will host a pre-season skills clinic, November 3-4, at Bishop Hendricken High School. The two-day basketball clinic is open to boys and girls, 10-18 years old.

The Rob Mac Pre-season Skills Clinic is designed for players looking to refine their skills as they prepare for upcoming team-tryouts and the winter season. McClanaghan’s instruction is geared to bring each player’s on court skills and game-situation knowledge to the next level.

McClanaghan trains some of the top professional basketball players in the NBA, including 2011 MVP Derrick Rose and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalists Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, Kevin Durant and Candace Parker. McClanaghan’s work with Oklahoma City’s Westbrook, a member of the 2012 Olympic Gold Medal winning basketball team, was highlighted in Sports Illustrated (June 14, 2012) and (June 12, 2012).

McClanaghan, who hails from Rhode Island, will incorporate some of the same drills he runs with his NBA clients in his upcoming clinic at his alma mater, Hendricken.

“The goal of the clinic is to prepare players for the upcoming season by enhancing their skills, improving their conditioning and increasing their knowledge,” McClanaghan said. “We’re going to work hard, but we are going to have a good time.”

Space is limited for this upcoming clinic. Interested participants who register by October 1, 2012 will save on the entry free. To register online go to:
