Neil W. Sprague
Neil W. Sprague, 56, of Yale Avenue, Warwick, died peacefully at home January 29, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Doody) Sprague, his high school sweetheart.
Born in New Haven, Conn., a son of the late Francis L. Sprague and Pasqualena “Lee” (Ferrara) Sprague (who also died Jan. 29), he lived in Warwick since 1981. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn. and the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, where he earned a BA in public relations and media and minored in psychology.
Mr. Sprague was an account supervisor in the public relations field, most recently with Tiziani Whitmyre in Sharon, Mass. He was previously employed with Winsor & Jerauld in Lincoln.
He was a member and past president of the RI Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Mr. Sprague was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Warwick and a member of its St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was a member of the Gaspee Days Committee.
He was the beloved father of Chad F. Sprague of Austin, Texas and Max W. Sprague of Warwick; brother of Francis L. Sprague Jr. of West Haven; and the godfather of the late Brigid F. Narewski.
His funeral will be held Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair St., Warwick. Visiting hours are Feb. 3 from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be private.
