NEIT launches post-professional doctorate of occupational therapy program

Posted

The New England Institute of Technology will launch its first-ever doctoral program this fall to address the needs of today’s society and the ever-growing aging population. The Post-Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (PP-OTD) is designed for registered occupational therapists who wish to expand their academic and clinical experience and become advanced practitioners promoting health, wellness and participation across many populations and groups. The program is well suited for registered occupational therapists seeking a new role in academia or research.

What sets New England Tech’s program apart from other PP-OTD programs is that it can be completed fully online in as little as 12 months if students enroll on a full-time basis without a required residency. This program is now the shortest program in duration to complete in the United States. Competitive programs can take 18-24 months. Students also can focus their doctoral project in the area of practice that interests them the most.

Application deadline for the PP-OTD program is July 15, 2018.

The PP-OTD program is designed to suit the schedules of working practitioners who have previously earned their master’s degree in occupational therapy and achieved certification status to practice as an occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
