Warwick resident Kathleen Monast recently completed a 36-hour Volunteer Ombudsman Training Program at the Alliance For Better Long Term Care. The Rhode Island Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for residents of long-term care facilities, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and those receiving licensed home care and licensed hospice care services. Ombudsmen investigate and mediate complaints, monitor residents’ care and quality of life and provide education for residents and families. For more information about the Alliance and to find out how you can become a volunteer, contact Lorrena Nardi at 785-3340.
