Nick Denice to run in Distict 26
Nick Denice, a Certified Fraud Examiner studying for his doctorate degree in law, has announced that he is running as a Democrat for State Representative in House District 26. The district is largely in West Warwick and includes a small section of Warwick.
Denice has a master’s degree in accounting and expertise in fraud detection, budgeting, accounting, law, and finance. He also studied Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science, recognized by the Fulbright Commission as the leading social science institution in the world.
As an unpaid pension board vice chairman, Denice helped save West Warwick over $40,000 in this year alone by finding lower priced and higher quality professional services.
“This state can no longer balance its budget on the backs of financially distressed communities. The cuts to state aid must be restored. I will fight to keep West Warwick from bankruptcy to avoid massive cuts to services, huge tax increases and plummeting home values. This is the challenge of this generation and I do not intend to sit idly by and do nothing,” he said in a statement.
Denice attended West Warwick High School, graduating as class salutatorian, going on to Bryant University in Smithfield. There, he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude. He is currently a law student at Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol. He is a Certified Public Accountant candidate (CPA) and has previously worked at the R.I. Office of the Auditor General and the world’s largest accounting firm, PwC, performing tax services for many Fortune 500 clients.
