Norma J. (Eagleson) Gregory, 88, formerly of Pinewood Drive passed away peacefully on January 25, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas J. Gregory, Sr.

Born in Renfrewshire, Scotland to James and Jessie (Jackson) Eagleson. Norma’s family immigrated to the United States in 1937. She was a graduate of Classical High School, Providence and from Rhode Island College. She later received a Master's Degree in Education from RIC. She was employed by the Warwick School Department for 31 years. She was an Elementary School Teacher and later Principal; retiring in 1985 as the Principal of the Lippitt School. She was an educator who was dedicated to her students and she made learning an enjoyable experience. After retiring, Norma volunteered for 15 years in the Gift Shop at Kent Hospital. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed dancing and singing. As a young girl in Scotland, she performed in Sword Dance competitions. On more than one transatlantic voyage she danced on the ship to the passenger’s delight. She won awards for her dancing.

She is survived by her son Douglas J. Gregory Jr. & his wife Renee and granddaughter Meredith R. Gregory. She was predeceased by twin sisters, Jessie Kuster & Agnes Lindquist and her brother James Eagleson.

A funeral service will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Friday at 9:00 a.m. Her life will be celebrated at calling hours on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
