Norwegian Air has informed the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) they are dropping their Bergen, Norway route and shifting those twice a week flights to Shannon, Ireland. In addition, their Edinburgh, Scotland flight will go from four flights a week to three.
RIAC views this as a minor market adjustment based on demand and appreciates Norwegian’s ongoing commitment to T.F. Green Airport according to a release issued Monday.
Norwegian Air had 18 flights per week departing T.F. Green in 2017, and that number will be adjusted to 17 for the 2018 summer schedule.
“We are pleased they are increasing flights to Shannon,” said the release.
The two 737's used to support these flights remain, as do the flight crews. No change in personnel is expected.
According to the release, anyone who had a flight booked to Bergen will get a full refund or can reschedule their flight.
