Robert N. Coates died September 1, 2016 at his home in California with his wife and children by his side.
He was born November 9, 1951 in Providence to the late Edgar C. and June D. (Gaskey) Coates. He attended schools in Warwick before joining the United States Army in the 1970s. After serving his country he became a salesman and traveled extensively worldwide. He and his wife, Laurie (Morris) moved to California where they remained.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa Marie, Robin, Samantha, Lisa and Robert Jr., as well as his grandson, Joshua and several other grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Timothy, Vivian, Thomas, Linda, Holly and Stephen and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, his brother-in-law, Jim and his aunt Irene (Gaskey) Duffy. He was predeceased by his brother, Edgar C. Coates Jr.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
