'Obey all the rules'
That’s Margaret Ramsden’s answer to a long life. Margaret, seen here with her friend and care provider Abella Sirois who she has been living with in her West Warwick home for the past two years, celebrated her 100th birthday Sunday. She grew up in Woonsocket where she was a fourth grade teacher for many years. She says she enjoyed working with children and watching them learn. Margaret has outlived her husband, Herbert, and both of their sons. Her closest kin is a granddaughter. Margaret lived for many years in Warwick; she enjoys music and she stays up on current affairs. “He’s doing the best he can,” she says of President Obama. One of her joys of life has been traveling. There isn’t any one place she remembers in particular…”just road trips,” she says.
