Olivier T. “Ollie” Barrette Jr., age 87, of Warwick, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Addie B. (Robinson) Barrette. They were married for 67 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Olivier T. and Elmire F.A. (Picard) Barrette, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter Church in Warwick. Mr. Barrette was employed by Oliver Barrette Millwrights, Inc. in Providence for over 60 years, retiring as president of the company. In his career, he worked on projects at the Providence Hurricane Barrier, the Pepsi Cola Company, Slater Park, Easton’s Beach, the Watch Hill Carousel, and the iconic Crescent Park Looff Carousel. He was also formerly employed as the State Inspector of Amusement Parks in Rhode Island.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Oliver “Ted” Barrette, III, and his wife Patricia, of North Scituate; two granddaughters, Jamie M. Barrette of Milford, CT and Erin M. Barrette of Coventry; and a sister, Anne M. Hecker of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Arthur A. Barrette, Lillian T. King, and John J. Barrette.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick.
