On a winning streak
Teams from the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center finished first and second from a field of 10 for a second year in the recent Ocean State Automotive Contest hosted by the New England Institute of Technology. During the competition, two-member teams circulate between 10 stations that cover everything from brakes to engine electronics, alignment and air conditioning. The winning team of Ryan Adams of Vets and Alex Kacprzak of West Warwick, at front right, now go on to compete in the National Automobile Technology Competition this spring. They both won $20,000 NEIT and $5,000 Universal Technical Institute [UTI] scholarships. To their right is the second place team of Justin Wilkinson and Zack Hawes, both Pilgrim students, who collectively won more than $20,000 in scholarships. Both teams also won tools.
