PAL 15's edged out by S.K.
The Warwick PAL 15-year-old all-stars got their revenge on rival Cranston but couldn’t dig all the way out of the losers’ bracket and fell to South Kingstown 5-4 in the losers’ bracket final of the state tournament.
Warwick had lost its opener to defending state champion Cranston 3-0. After staying alive with an 8-1 win over North Providence last Monday, Warwick earned a rematch with Cranston and ran with the opportunity. Warwick posted its most impressive win of the tournament as it beat Cranston 9-1.
Unfortunately for Warwick, there was still a long way to go, and South Kingstown denied the team a chance for the title with a 5-4 victory on Friday.
South Kingstown went on to the finals, where it lost to Coventry. The Coventry team will represent Rhode Island at the regional tournament.
