PAL beats EP, improves to 5-0

The Warwick PAL Junior Pee Wee Patriots secured their fifth win this season over the weekend. Warwick beat Division I opponent East Providence 20-6. East Providence scored first, but could not capitalize on that momentum.

The Patriots running back Josh Reid scored on a 38-yard run up the sideline to tie the game at 6-6. The score would remain that way going into halftime.

But the Patriots came out of halftime firing on all defensive cylinders, forcing a four-and-out. They took this momentum all the way to the end zone on a 27-yard run by Reid on the ensuing possession, which began with solid blocking by Hunter Rawson, Matt Krasnov and Brandon Rios.

The Patriots were virtually lockdown on defense, with the big play of Mike Borges and Zack Fraser. The Pats added another score on a run by Eric Watts, who was untouched all the way to the end zone thanks to the great blocking of the Patriots’ offense.

Also contributing on offense was Logan Bowen, Patrick Frye and Stephen O’Neil. The Patriots head into their bye week with a 5-0 record and will end the regular season with games against North Kingstown and West Elmwood.
