Pawtuxet Village Rehab says facility is clear of mold

A statement from the Rhode Island maintenance manager of the Pawtuxet Village Care and Rehab facility that shut its doors two weeks ago denied rumors of a mold infestation reported to the Beacon earlier this week.

“As far as [we] know, there are no mold issues at PV,” said divisional maintenance manager Elmar Alikhanov yesterday in an email. “After the March 30 of 2010 flood, the basement was entirely cleaned, sanitized … and tested by [an] independent contractor for mold … There are no signs of any mold in [the] building.”
