Peggy J. “Peg” (Isbell) Wahl

Peggy J. “Peg” (Isbell) Wahl, passed away on July 25, 2012 after a heroic battle against cancer.

Born in Alabama, Peg met her husband Herbert in 1957 while he was stationed at the Ft. McClellan Military base in Anniston, Ala. It was love at first sight, as Herb proclaimed immediately ‘I love you and I’m going to marry you!” and he did. Thus began a long enduring, love story that has spanned 55 years. Upon release from the military the young couple headed to Herb’s hometown of Providence R.I. Peg embraced Herb’s family and friends as her own. In later years Herb and Peg moved to Florida and there too she developed lasting friendships. Everyone that met Peg loved her. Peg’s smile was radiant and her laughter contagious. Even as a young girl she was known for her quick wit, effervescent personality, and kind and gentle spirit. Her vivaciousness and zest for living continued throughout her entire life. Peg’s pride and joy was her family and to them she was everything. Peg should be remembered for the wisdom, joy and zest for life that she gave so unconditionally to everyone she met.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert A. Wahl. and her two children; Michael John Wahl (Maryann), and Kimberley Ann Quagan (John) all of Rhode Island; her sister Barbara Saylor (Don) of Montgomery, Ala. Her three grandchildren were her treasures; Justin Vitalo (17), Lily Grace Vitalo (12) and Maggie Grace Quagan (18 months). Her "babies," as she called them, all loved and adored their "Mom Peg." She is preceded in death by her twin daughters; mother, father; one sister and three brothers.

A celebration of Peg’s life will be held Sunday August 5, 2012 at 7p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Visitation Sunday 4-7p.m. Online condolences may be made at
