People's Credit Union recently donated $2,449 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The funds were raised through a combination of People's Credit Union employee and member donations, bake sales at each branch location and a spring themed raffle held throughout the month of March in the Credit Union's Portsmouth branch, which has been the top fundraiser for the past three years.
This year Teresa Simmons, a teller in Portsmouth, hand-painted glassware, which was sold in the branch and helped to make this year's donation a huge success. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society mission is to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Since 2006, People's Credit Union has raised $23,561 with this campaign.
