DiSanto, Priest & Co. recently announced the promotion of Partner Peter Gervais, CPA, CFP, MST to Director of the Tax Planning and Compliance Department.

"Peter's contributions and specialized knowledge in tax services for privately-held businesses and high net worth individuals have made him an invaluable member of our team," said Emilio Colapietro, managing partner of DiSanto, Priest & Co. "His commitment to our clients and community will continue to strengthen the firm in his new leadership position."

Gervais recently played a key thought leadership role in the Rhode Island community when he addressed a group of more than one hundred manufacturers on how the 2017 Tax Reform will impact their businesses. The Tax Reform workshop was hosted by the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association.

Gervais also received recognition from Providence Business News as a member of their 2015 "40 under Forty" list of top Rhode Island professionals who have distinguished themselves in their careers and communities.

In addition to his professional work, Peter has been a member of the board of the Providence Children's Museum since 2012. Currently, he serves as the organization's treasurer and is a member of the executive, finance and investment committees.

Peter received his undergraduate degree with a concentration in accounting as well as a Master of Science in Taxation from Bryant University. His further professional education includes attaining the designation of Certified Financial Planner. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In his new role, Peter will oversee the Tax Planning and Compliance Department and help guide the firm's strategic goals.
