Photos sought for 2018 City of Warwick calendar

Do you have a photo that reflects Warwick’s history, beauty, character or events that make our community so special? If so, Mayor Scott Avedisian and the Department of Public Works invite you to submit it for consideration for the 2018 City of Warwick calendar.

The Recycling and Sanitation Division is presently preparing the upcoming calendar and is once again offering people the opportunity to highlight their work in the final product. Anyone with photos of Warwick’s events, historic locations, nature scenes or its people is invited to submit them for consideration. Each month will feature a different photo, so only 12 photos will be selected.

Digital photos should be an 8 x 10 version, 300 dpi. Those with hard copies of photos are asked to submit an 8 x 10 print, which will be scanned. Or, photos may be burned onto a CD in .tiff, .eps or .jpg format.

Submissions should include your name, address and phone number, along with a brief description, the name of the photographer (if he or she is not the person submitting the photo), and location of the scene. Names of those whose photos are selected will be included in the calendar. Please do not submit your original photo, as its return cannot be guaranteed.

Photos may be emailed to sanitation Christopher Beneduce, 925 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI 02889 during normal business hours. Deadline to submit photos is September 15.

Photographers should also be aware that the City’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Development is always looking for good photos of Warwick. If you’d like to submit photos to that department as well, the format and request for photograph information is the same, but email the pictures to Karen.jedson@warwickri.com or drop off or mail them to her at Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Road, Warwick, RI  02886. The city does not pay for photographs.
