Pilgrim to honor 1,000-point scorers
Pilgrim will honor its girls’ basketball 1,000-point scorers with a halftime ceremony at Saturday’s 7 p.m. game against Juanita Sanchez. Jerseys with their numbers will be hung on the gymnasium wall, joining a similar display for the boys’ 1,000-point scorers.
Two years ago, when Leah Furney and Courtney Cribari hit the milestone, Pilgrim put up a banner to honor them and the three players who had reached 1,000 before them – LaRae Rhodes ’03, Meaghan McGonagle ’98 and Patricia Curran ’78.
Senior Danielle LeBlanc joined the club this year and all six 1,000-point scorers are expected to attend Saturday’s ceremony.
The Pats will also hold senior night festivities before the game.
Gauthiers say thank you
After another successful hockey festival, Bob Gauthier wishes to express his thanks to the Warwick community and to everyone who was involved in making the event special.
“It was just as big a success as it has been every year,” Gauthier said. “And we were actually able to raise even more money this year.”
All proceeds from the January festival go to the Andrew J. Gauthier Scholarship fund. The 2012 scholarships will be handed out to Warwick student-athletes later this year.
