Pitch Perfect

(Imperfect a cappella movie)

If you like a cappella singing, you'll get a decent taste of it in this imperfect movie about college singing groups. The music is fine, but it is too often interrupted by a stupid, trite story.

Anna Kendrick plays Beca, enrolled in Barden University by her professor father. Beca would rather be in LA producing music.

The college kids seem to spend all their time attending singing contests and practicing routines. Beca is finally convinced to join the Barden Bellas, led by a controlling student who immediately dislikes her. Their male counterpart, the Treble Makers, win all of the contests every year, and are 100 times better than the weak women's group.

Will Beca be able to save the group by convincing them to do more modern, up-tempo routines?

Will Beca and Jesse (Skylar Astin), a co-worker and member of the Treble Makers, ever connect?

Will the Barden Bellas ever win the Nationals?

Beca pouts a lot and pushes away those who care for her, but can she turn herself around?

It all comes down to the finals, or the Big Game in sports talk.

Rated PG-13 with mild profanity and two disgusting vomiting scenes.
