DISORDERLY CONDUCT

On July 18 at approximately 12:13 p.m. Officer Rose Michel and Detective Darren Parrillo responded to the Metro PCS store on Bald Hill Rd. for the report of a female fleeing the scene after kicking the glass front entry door of the store.

A witness said that the female, later identified as Jennifer Bailey, 36, of 11 Browne St. in Cranston, had entered the store and yelled about how poorly a vehicle had been parked in the parking lot. The vehicle belonged to a co-worker of the witness, and the witness said Bailey yelled profanities at them before leaving the store. When she left, she said she kicked the glass front door, breaking it.

She then left in a Chevrolet Tahoe, for which the witness got the registration plate number for, and drove away.

At this time, dispatch told the officers that Bailey had called Warwick P.D. and told them that she had accidentally broken the glass door. Det. Parrillo drove to meet with Bailey and brought her back to Metro PCS. Parrillo said she had struck the door with her knees as she entered the door, causing it to break.

The two workers identified Bailey as the one who broke the door. Bailey was given a no trespassed order from the store, as was the male she was with, and took into custody and brought back to police headquarters.

She was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Vandalism/Malicious Injury to Property and released on a court summons.

LARCENY

On July 17 Officer Richard Odell met with Lucas Britton, 26, of 43 Bernon St. in Providence, who wanted to turn himself in for a crime and take the blame for his friend, the defendant in a court case.

Britton said he and his friends had gone to Oakland Beach and became curious about how secure the American flag was in the Top of the Bay parking lot. He said he then undid the clips of the flag and brought it down before running to his car, when he and his two friends were apprehended by a restaurant employee. One of his friends took the blame for it when Britton was the one who did it.

Britton was subsequently charged with one count of Larceny under $1,500 and given a court summons.

On July 16 at approximately 4:34 p.m. Officer Charles Austin responded to Kilvert Street for the report of larceny from a vehicle. The reporting party said that his white pick up truck, parked in the back lot of Green Waste Water Solutions, was left unlocked when he parked around 3:00 p.m. that day.

He said when he realized this he went back out around 4:30 p.m. to find that his laptop, valued at $1,000, was missing.

He did not have a serial number for the laptop and there was no video surveillance from that area. The victim said he’d like to press charges if a victim was found.

On July 19 at approximately 7:50 p.m. Officer Alfred Silveira responded to the Apponaug Harbor Marina on Arnold’s Neck Dr. for the report of a stolen boat.

The victim said that his 11-foot 6-inch Avon rigid inflatable boat with an Evinrude 4 stroke 9.9 horsepower motor was stolen from the dock.

He said he had last seen the boat on July 16 when it was chained to a dinghy dock around 8:00 p.m. He gave the officer the boat registration and Warwick police entered it into the system as being stolen.

The boat and the motor combined had a total value of $4,000, according to the victim. The case was forwarded to detectives.

SHOPLIFTING

On July 3 at approximately 8:02 p.m. Officer Thomas Paine responded to the Macy’s at Warwick Mall for the report of a shoplifting.

The loss prevention associate said she saw a male, later identified as Paul Joseph Kuzdeba, 33, of 16 Polo St. in Pawtucket, quickly selecting multiple items without looking at the price tags and continued to walk through the store before passing through the scanners at the exit with a large amount of clothing items in his arms.

When the employee stopped Kuzdeba outside the store, she said he tossed all the items at her and ran away, and she lost sight of him.

She said Kuzdeba had tried taken fourteen clothing items, all recovered, which had a total value of $484.96. She said the store wished to press charges if the suspect was located and showed video surveillance of the incident to the officer.

On July 21, the North Smithfield police department told Warwick officers that they had Kuzdeba in custody due to a bench warrant and affidavit warrant for shoplifting.

Kuzdeba was picked up by Warwick P.D. and taken to police headquarters, where he was issued a court summons for Shoplifting. He was then transported to the ACI.
