Program focuses on preventing falls


Falls account for 25 percent of hospitalizations and 31 percent of falls are caused by our environment and may be prevented. Greenwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Warwick will hold an information session , Fall into Good Health on Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at New England Bay Retirement Living located at 600 Centre of New England Boulevard in Coventry.

The session will be presented by RN and Director of Nursing Services of Greenwood Care and Rehab, Kathleen Bedard. Seniors attending will learn the main causes of falls and tips on how to make their own homes safer to prevent falls. A tip sheet and giveaways will also be offered to attendees. Area seniors are welcome to attend the session by calling Denise or Elizabeth at 401-821-2445.

Greenwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, located in Warwick provides skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation therapy, through its Rehab Recovery Suites®.
