Quarter tax payments extended to July 31

As motor vehicle, real estate and tangible tax bills won’t be in the mail until the beginning of next week, Mayor Scott Avedisian announced yesterday that the first quarter payments are being extended until July 31.

No interest will accrue on payments hand-delivered to the Tax Collector’s Office by July 31 or on bills that are postmarked by July 31.

The delay was due to a computer upgrade, which will ultimately allow tax payments to be processed more quickly by the Tax Collector’s Office.
