Raymond B. Murphy, 88, a Warwick resident since 1957, died Friday, March 23,2018 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Hobin) Murphy.

Born in Providence, Raymond was one of twelve children of the late James and Helen (MacPhee) Murphy. For over 40 years he served as both a lineman and inspector for Narragansett Electric Co. A member of Saints Rose and Clement Parish, his many activities including caring for his rose and vegetable gardens at home, serving as a volunteer for the Rose Club at Roger Williams Park, Providence and making assorted chocolates, giving them to family and friends at Christmas and Easter.

He leaves his devoted children, Dorothy A. Lutynski of Warwick, Kathryn P. Fitzgerald of Clinton, CT, Joanne M. Pfeiler, Maureen E. Murphy and William M. Murphy all of Warwick. He was predeceased by his sons: Raymond B. Murphy Jr. and James R. Murphy. He was the cherished grandfather of 14, and great-grandfather of eight.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 28,2018 at 8:45 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
