Raymond E. Erban, Sr.


Raymond E. Erban, Sr., 86, of Warwick passed away surrounded by his family at home on February 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Claudette I. (Johnston) Erban.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George W. and Doris (Needham) Erban. Mr. Erban was a self-employed specialist in Heating, Ventilation and Plumbing Services. He was licensed in pipe fitting and refrigeration repair. He served in The United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the V.F.W.

He was the loving father of Linda L. Czop and her husband, Gregory of West Warwick, Raymond E. “Skip” Erban, Jr. of Warwick, Dianne M. Varr of Warwick, Jeanne C. DeSantis and her husband, David of Warwick and the late Michael R. Erban. Cherished grandfather of eleven; and great-grandfather of five. Caring brother of Richard J. Erban of Stuart, Florida and the late George A. Erban and Charles F. “Chick” Erban.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
