Raymond U. Esposito, age 91, of Park Row West, Providence, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Hallworth House. He was the husband of Jane F. (McMahon) Esposito. They would have been married for 64 years in October.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Remeigio and Maria (Guglione) Esposito, he lived in Warwick for most of his life, moving to Providence 7 years ago. Mr. Esposito was an officer and co-owner of Esposito Jewelry, Inc. in Providence until his retirement in 1981. Active in Democratic politics, he was a former member of the RI Democratic State Committee and served on numerous boards and commissions. He served on the Warwick Board of Public Safety from 1974-1976 and 1994-1996.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond J. Esposito and his wife Susan, of Providence; two grandchildren, Amy C. Esposito and Eric R. Esposito; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Esposito, Olga Tramonti, Mario Esposito, Harry Esposito, Ida Albanese, and his twin sister, Esther Shekarchi.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 9, in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial was in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
