Raymond W. Gaudet, 90, left this life and our lives peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Warwick, RI. His family was by his side when he passed.

The youngest of four children, he was born to Darius and Anita Saucier Gaudet on June 25, 1927 in Cranston, RI. As a youth in Cranston, Ray excelled at ice hockey, and was named an all-star while playing for Cranston High School. After graduating from high school, Ray began work at Gorham Manufacturing, where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Ray was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952. Ray married the love of his life, Elaine St. Rock in August of 1952 at St. Michaels Church in Georgiaville, RI. They spent over 65 years together, most of living in Warwick, RI. Ray and Elaine had a wide circle of friends, and would join them for bowling, other sports events or just an evening of fun. Ray was an avid fan of all things Boston – especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Ray and Elaine would also make trips to Atlantic City for many years, and later in life would frequent the casinos in Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Ray is survived by his wife, Elaine and numerous nieces and nephews. He was particularly close to two of his nieces Denise Capelli of West Warwick and Debi Hallowell Gallagher of Richland, WA and his nephew David Gaudet of Warwick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Armand Gaudet of Warwick, RI and his sisters Jeanette Gaudet and Gertrude Burton, who both lived in California. To those who spent the time to get to know Ray and enjoy his sense of humor and generous spirit, his family is very grateful.

You are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick at 10 a.m. on Friday January 19, 2018. Ray will be interned at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI. The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home in Warwick is in charge of arrangements. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
