Red vs. White night a success thanks to many

Thank you to all who attended our fundraiser Sept. 20 Red vs. White: A Night to Celebrate Local Flavor! at ShelaLara Vineyards and Winery in Coventry. Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) and the Coventry Library Foundation put on this event as a joint endeavor and Walgreens of Coventry was a participating sponsor. We had an exceptional evening with over 100 attendees supporting our missions.

Literacy Volunteers of Kent County, Inc. is an accredited non-profit affiliate of ProLiteracy, Inc. with 501(c) 3 status. We train volunteers to tutor adults whose limited English literacy skills prevent them from functioning effectively in their homes, workplaces, communities, or as citizens of the United States.  Tutoring by volunteers is free of charge, is confidential and is typically done on a one-to-one basis. LVKC does not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, or marital or familial status. 

The Coventry Public Library Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 trust established in 2001, has a goal to fund the eventual expansion of the present Coventry Public Library building. This expansion will ensure library services that are convenient, appropriate and accessible for the citizens of Coventry.
