Resident Evil: Retribution 3D
(Loud, discombobulated mess)
Milla Jovovich is back as Alice, savior of the world, in this loud, discombobulated mess of a movie...the fifth in the series.
My usher friend at the Showcase advised me that #3 was the best, while #4 slipped a bit. Well, #5 crashed, and, unfortunately, the ending made it clear that there would be a #6.
Alice wakes up to find herself in the middle of the Umbrella Corporation, where all kinds of strange things are happening, including 10 times the number of zombies than were in "Night of the Living Dead" chasing her through the sterile corridors.
Alice is one tough heroine, capable of destroying most of them and escaping, only to be pursued by the evil corporation’s bad guys and gals, traveling to such places as Tokyo, New York City, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, all of which have been reduced to rubble.
It's this awful T-virus that is destroying everything and everybody, except Alice, of course, who is immune. Some of her friends from previous "Resident Evil" movies are back, along with a new crew who fight valiantly.
There's the usual loud, bloody, long showdown, with lots of ammunition being spent, bodies flying through the air, and Alice surviving to fight another day. It won't be too soon for me.
Rated PG-13, with continuous violence.
