Respectful retirement

Members of the Warwick City Council presented former councilman and candidate for mayor, Joseph Gallucci, with a proclamation and honorary certificate at last week’s council meeting. As the Director of Elections, Gallucci retired on Jan. 31 after 16 years of employment. Further, Gallucci dedicated more than 30 years of public service to the city. He was previously the director of human services, the clerk for the Board of Canvassers, as well as the councilman of Ward 8 from 1977 to 1984, and 1990 to 1994. Gallucci served as council president from 1980 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994. Current Council President Bruce Place (left) presented Gallucci with the certificate.
