Rev. James G. Lockhart died peacefully at home on April 29, 2017, after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Sally Benson Lockhart for 52 years. They lived together at 19 Miles Ave in Tiverton, RI, for the last 17 years.

Jim was born in Pittsburg, PA on February 24, 1943. He was predeceased by his parents: George Lockhart, Willis Black and Clara Schonefeld Black. Jim graduated from Butler High School in 1961, Westminster College in 1965, and Pittsburg Seminary in 1968. During his career as a Minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, he served as pastor to; the Grand Island Presbyterian Church, the Oakwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, in Troy NY, and the Barrington Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Presbytery of Southern New England. After his retirement, he faithfully attended Providence Presbyterian Church.

Jim was the proud father of; Todd Lockhart of East Providence RI, and Jeffery Lockhart and his wife Sarah Lockhart of Warwick RI. He is survived by his three beloved grandchildren; Luke, James Peter (JP), and Lilly Lockhart. He is survived by four siblings; Judy Deahl, of Butler PA, Bill Lockhart of Newcastle, PA, Dianne Burke of Wayland MA, and Merry Snyder of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by two of his siblings, Carol Maise and James Black. He loved God, and was loved by many.

His memorial service will be held on Friday May 5th, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Providence Presbyterian Church, 500 Hope Ave. in Providence, RI 02906
