Rhode Island College is planning a return to in-person instruction for the Fall 2021 semester. Plans for the return to campus are being made with health and safety at the center, and all plans are subject to change based on updated guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH).
The plan calls for Fall 2021 classes, which begin in August, to be conducted primarily in-person, with some classes offered online, in either synchronous, asynchronous or hybrid formats.
In addition to teaching and learning, academic advising will be offered in-person with options for virtual appointments and consultation. Experiential learning, such as clinicals and other placements will be in-person, provided conditions permit.
Campus activities will resume in-person and the college will offer on-campus housing and in-person dining services with options for dining outside and grab-and-go. Student athletes will be allowed to practice, play and compete. Student services - including financial aid, career services, tutoring, disability services, and health and counseling services - will be offered both on campus and virtually to provide greater support. Adams Library will continue to be open as it has throughout the course of the pandemic.
